Hi! My name is Kat, and I design things. I started designing book covers in 2011 and officially launched KM Writing & Design in 2013. Since then, I've designed hundreds of book covers for independent authors!
In 2021, I decided to narrow the focus of the "design" part of my business to what I'm most passionate about—designing pre-made book covers. In 2025, I expanded to include my other artistic interests (making one-of-a-kind dolls and art) and rebranded to Bad Kat Studio. I especially enjoy repainting Monster High dolls and creating contemporary book cover designs for literary fiction, sci-fi, poetry, thrillers, and Young Adult/New Adult genres.
